Eagles’ player indicted on felony charges

This week, Eagles rookie offensive lineman Josh Sills was indicted on charges of rape and kidnapping in his native Ohio.
According to prosecutors, the 25-year-old Sills engaged in sexual conduct with a victim and “purposefully compelled her to submit by force or threat of force” during an alleged incident on Dec. 5, 2019.
In this case, the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation and a grand jury has indicted Sills on a single felony count of rape and one felony count of kidnapping.
It is scheduled that Sills will appear in court on Feb. 16 – just four days after the Eagles and Chiefs play in the Super Bowl 2023 in Arizona at State Farm Stadium.
Neither the Eagles nor Sills have publicly commented on the news.
As a rookie guard, he played four snaps on special teams in one regular-season game for Philadelphia against the Cardinals on Oct. 9. Philadelphia beat the Cardinals by a score of 20-17.
Sills attended both West Virginia and Oklahoma State during his college years. He will be turning 25 on Thursday. He joined the Eagles as an undrafted free agent prior to the 2022 season.
