Country Star Arrested on Felony Charges

Country music artist Morgan Wallen found himself in legal trouble following an incident at a Nashville bar. The 30-year-old singer, known for his hit “Wasted on You,” was arrested after allegedly throwing a chair from the sixth floor of Chiefs Bar in downtown Nashville. The incident occurred just after 10:45 p.m. on a Sunday night, as reported by local news outlets.

According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the thrown chair landed dangerously close to officers, just three feet away. Wallen was arrested and booked into custody shortly after midnight on Monday. The country star faces three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct.

Wallen’s attorney, Worrick Robinson, confirmed the arrest and charges in a statement. He said, “Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct at 10:53 pm Sunday evening. He is fully cooperating with authorities.”

Wallen’s bond was set at $15,250, and he was released from Davidson County jail around 3:30 a.m. Witnesses at the scene reported that Wallen seemed to find humor in the situation, laughing after the incident. An image posted on Instagram by @itsscoopnashville appears to show Wallen shouting in the back of a police car outside the bar.

This is not Wallen’s first encounter with law enforcement in Nashville. In May 2020, he was arrested on charges of intoxication and disorderly conduct after being ejected from Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk bar in downtown Nashville. He later apologized for his behavior on social media.

The country star also faced a DUI charge in 2016, but the case was eventually dismissed. Wallen’s legal troubles come on the heels of his third studio album release, “One Thing at a Time,” which features 36 songs including hits like “Last Night” and “Thinkin’ Bout Me.”

Wallen’s next court date is set for May 3, coinciding with his upcoming performances at Nissan Stadium from May 2 to May 4 as part of his “One Night at a Time” Tour. Chiefs Bar, where the incident occurred, is owned by fellow country musician Eric Church and had just celebrated its grand opening.
