Burger King worker shoots customer after argument at drive-thru

A Burger King employee in Mississippi was apprehended by police following a physical altercation with a customer that initially started over the drive-thru intercom.

According to the arrest records, 33-year-old Eddie Louis Smith was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon after a felony conviction.

Officers were notified of the incident on Thursday night by a driver who had been stranded near the Burger King. This person reported that there was a violent altercation taking place at the fast food restaurant.

As the police were making their way towards the Burger King, they heard two gunshots and noticed Smith on top of the victim.

The conflict initially began through the drive-thru intercom speaker before Smith left the back door of the Burger King and the customer exited their car. This is when the physical fight started and Smith allegedly pulled out his gun and fired two rounds, hitting the victim.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. One of the shots also hit Smith’s hand. After receiving treatment, he was taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
