Jaime Christine Major, a 39-year-old assistant manager of a Burger King restaurant located in South Carolina, has been arrested on charges of tampering with food, a felony offense. This follows allegations that she had been serving customers French fries that had been retrieved from a trash can.
The Union Police Department received a report of a disturbance at the fast food establishment on July 9th and upon arriving at the scene, two women were found vocally abusing the staff and using profanity. When the officers asked them to calm down and they refused, they were both arrested for disorderly conduct.
Two days later, Burger King headquarters contacted police to inform them of Major’s actions. After an investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Major. If convicted, she could be facing a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
A judge set her bail at $20,000, and as of Tuesday, she had been detained in the Union County Detention Center.
