Bodies Found in Storage Unit, Funeral Director Arrested

A former Mississippi funeral home owner is facing charges for allegedly storing bodies illegally in a storage unit, which he referred to as his “casket warehouse” on social media platform TikTok, following the loss of his business license, according to local law enforcement. The unsettling discovery of human remains in a storage unit in Greenville has sparked a comprehensive investigation, as stated by Greenville Mayor Errick D. Simmons last week. The arrest of Albert “Al” Creath, 31, was announced by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.

Creath, who previously owned Creath Memorial Services funeral home in Greenville, was apprehended and charged with two counts of improper desecration of corpses. The charges came after authorities discovered three bodies in a storage unit registered to Creath at a facility on Reed Road near Beauchamp, as reported by The Clarion-Ledger.

Washington County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Billy Barber expressed his belief that Creath was attempting to continue conducting funerals and burials, which he promoted on social media. The bodies were found during an investigation into a suspected burglary, Barber told The Delta News.

Barber described the situation as an isolated incident, attributing it to Creath’s failure to fulfill his responsibilities regarding the corpses. Creath, who uses the online moniker “FuneralHomeCEO,” had posted videos on TikTok showing him storing caskets and other funeral-related items in a storage unit. He referred to the unit as his “second home” and “casket warehouse” in captions for a video from September 2024.

Authorities are currently investigating Creath’s activities since he lost his business license to determine if they warrant additional charges. Mayor Simmons assured the public that they will be kept informed as more details emerge. He emphasized that Greenville is a community that values dignity, respect, and the rule of law, and will not tolerate any actions that violate these principles. He also encouraged anyone with information to assist authorities in their investigation.
