On Saturday night, at the 1.3-mile mark of the Osage Arm in Miller County, a 2014 Nortech motorboat driven by an allegedly intoxicated boat driver crashed into the shore of the Lake of the Ozarks, sending the boat smashing into a house and ejecting all eight passengers who were onboard.
The passengers, ranging in age from 21 to 51, were all from out of state, with six of them suffering serious injuries and two with moderate injuries.
All eight were taken to the Lake Regional Hospital by EMS, with none of them wearing life jackets or any other safety devices. The driver, Adam Ramirez, of Huntington Beach, California, was arrested and charged with boating while intoxicated.
Photos of the scene showed the overturned boat near the shore, as well as extensive damage to the back deck and one of the walls of the house, with debris scattered in the area.
On Sunday night, the boat was removed from the scene by putting it on a trailer.
