Armed Robbery at Dairy Queen Gets Just $1.50

A Florida woman, already serving time in prison, is now facing additional charges of armed robbery. The charges stem from an incident that occurred last year at a Dairy Queen in Coconut Creek, approximately 37 miles north of Miami. Allison Fetting, 44, is accused of attempting to rob the fast-food outlet with a firearm, ultimately making off with a tip jar containing a mere $1.50.

The incident took place in February of the previous year. Fetting allegedly brandished a black handgun during the attempted robbery. When she was unable to convince the cashier to empty the cash register, she reportedly fled the scene with the tip jar. The amount stolen was less than half the price of one of Dairy Queen’s popular Blizzard desserts, according to law enforcement.

Fortunately, no one was harmed during the incident. Fetting was initially arrested the day after the robbery by deputies from the Palm Beach sheriff’s office. She was charged with armed robbery at the time.

The formal charges for the Dairy Queen robbery were brought against Fetting on Friday. At the time, she was already serving a state prison sentence for multiple convictions, including robbery and drug-related offenses.

Fetting is now being transferred to Broward County Jail. She has a history of similar offenses in Palm Beach County. State records show that she has already served nearly three years of a four-year sentence for a conviction of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, battery on a law enforcement officer, and grand theft. These charges all stem from an arrest in 2003.

Fetting was initially arrested the day after the Dairy Queen incident. However, it was only on Friday that she was formally charged with the robbery at the Broward County Jail. Her arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday.
