CLOQUET, Minn. — Three people were tragically killed in a shooting incident at a hotel in Cloquet, Minnesota on Monday evening. The suspected shooter is also among the deceased, according to local police.
Authorities responded to a call reporting an employee at the Super 8 hotel who appeared to have been assaulted. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a 22-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man with gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save her, the woman did not survive, while the man was pronounced dead in the hotel parking lot.
Soon after, the body of a 32-year-old man was found outside the hotel with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Surveillance footage confirmed that he was the suspected shooter.
Currently, the identities of the victims have not been released. Officials are in the process of notifying their families. The motive behind the shooting and any potential relationship between the shooter and the victims remain unknown at this time.
Crime scene investigators are actively working on processing the scene, and a news conference has been scheduled for Tuesday with updates regarding the ongoing investigation.
