3 Shot, 1 Teen Dead After Shooting at Sport Complex

CHANDLER, Ariz. – A tragic shooting at Snedigar Sportsplex on Sunday night has resulted in the death of one teenager and left two others wounded. The incident took place in Chandler, a city located in southern Arizona.

According to authorities, Chandler police officers were called to the park, situated at the intersection of Alma School Road and Lake Drive, shortly before 9 p.m. When they arrived at the scene, they discovered three individuals who had been shot during what is being described as an altercation between two groups.

Unfortunately, one of the victims, identified as 16-year-old Jaylan Collins, did not survive his injuries. The two other teenagers, a boy and a girl, suffered wounds that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Collins’s parents spoke to the media on Monday, but they chose not to appear on camera. They stated that they had last spoken to their son on Sunday afternoon and are still waiting for further information pertaining to the incident.

In the aftermath of the tragic shooting, no arrests have been made. Chandler police are treating it as an isolated incident and have reassured the community that there is no ongoing threat. Both groups involved in the altercation were familiar with each other, and none of the individuals involved are residents of Chandler.
