Woman Stabbed in Face at McDonald’s Drive-thru

A Memphis, Tennessee woman was reportedly assaulted at a local McDonald’s drive-thru by another woman who allegedly stabbed her in the face with a screwdriver. The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Ashley Davis, is currently in police custody following her arrest by the Memphis Police Department.

The incident occurred on November 20, when the victim was placing her food order at the drive-thru speaker box. Davis allegedly approached the victim’s stationary vehicle, seeking money. When the victim informed Davis that she had no money, Davis is said to have brandished what the victim believed to be a screwdriver, stabbing her in the face. Davis reportedly retorted, “You should’ve had money,” before leaving the scene.

Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and spotted Davis fleeing down a nearby street. A chase ensued, during which Davis allegedly resisted arrest and engaged in a physical altercation with the officers. She was eventually apprehended and taken to the Shelby County Jail, where she is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Davis faces charges of aggravated assault and resisting official detention. Her court appearance is scheduled for December 5. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, received treatment at the scene of the attack.

The McDonald’s outlet, located at 1742 S. Trezevant St. in Memphis, has been linked to several violent crimes in the past. This includes a fatal shooting that took place on November 14.

The incident underscores the need for increased security measures at fast-food outlets and other public spaces, particularly in areas with a history of violent incidents. It also raises questions about the adequacy of current measures in place to protect customers and staff.
