Woman Charged with Homicide of Boyfriend’s Toddler Son

A Pennsylvania woman is currently in custody, charged with the murder of her boyfriend’s two-year-old son. Brianna Rufina Bloyer, 30, is facing a homicide charge, as per the Fayette County District Attorney’s Office. The authorities have accused Bloyer of not only inflicting severe violence on the toddler but also leaving him to die without seeking medical help.

The tragic incident occurred on August 16, when another adult arrived at Bloyer’s residence in Springhill Township, a small community near the West Virginia border. The individual found the child unresponsive and learned that Bloyer was aware of the child’s condition but had not called 911. The identity of the person who eventually called 911 has not been disclosed in the complaint.

Emergency services were alerted to the child’s condition, with the caller describing the child’s feet as propped up, his face as blue, and his apparent lack of breathing. Despite the immediate response of first responders who rushed the child to a nearby hospital, the medical staff pronounced him braindead. The child, identified as Bentlee Myers, succumbed to his injuries three days later on August 19.

Medical examination revealed that Bentlee was covered in bruises and had sustained numerous internal injuries. His official cause of death was listed as “cardiac arrest by head trauma.” Bloyer allegedly told investigators that the child had been staying with her for about two weeks and that he had stumbled and collapsed when she woke him up on the day of the incident.

A search of Bloyer’s residence led to the seizure of her phone, which allegedly contained a search from August 16: “how to get someone to come to when you pass out.” Other incriminating Google searches made between August 8 and 9 included: “why am I so much more angry while pregnant” and “what better to make bruises fade overnight.” She also allegedly searched for “homemade bruise cream” and “carpet imprint in face how long does it take to go away.”

The complaint also noted that Bloyer’s phone did not dial 911 on the day Bentlee sustained his fatal injuries. When questioned about his son’s injuries, the boy’s father claimed he was unaware of the bruises. However, he did mention that he had noticed Bloyer seemed stressed and frustrated with the child.

Bloyer failed to appear for a follow-up interview scheduled on September 25. In the time between her missed appointment and her recent arrest, her car was spotted in Indiana and Arizona. Bloyer is currently being held without bond in the Fayette County Jail, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for November 20.
