Woman Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing Child’s Father During Custody Exchange

A 25-year-old woman from Tennessee, Justyce Knowles, was arrested on December 24 after allegedly stabbing the father of her child during a custody exchange earlier in the month. The incident reportedly occurred on December 4 at the home of the child’s paternal grandmother in Memphis, Tennessee.

Court documents reveal that Knowles was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a knife. She was detained at the Shelby County Jail, with her bond set at $15,000. The bond was posted on December 25, securing her release.

The documents further detail the events of December 4. Knowles and the child’s father, identified only as “Walker” by Memphis NBC affiliate WMC, were at his mother’s residence for a custody exchange. A verbal disagreement between the two parents reportedly escalated outside the home, eventually turning physical.

Knowles is said to have walked away from the altercation at one point, only to return armed with a knife. She allegedly attacked Walker, who sustained injuries to his hands and neck. While the injuries were not life-threatening, he was transported to Regional One Health Medical Center for treatment.

Walker identified Knowles as his attacker. The whereabouts of the child during the incident remain unknown.

The police were alerted to the incident by Walker’s mother, who called them on December 4 to report the altercation between her son and Knowles.

Following her release on bond, Knowles is scheduled to appear in court on December 27.
