Well Known Fashion Designer Found Dead in Home

A prominent fashion designer based in Brooklyn was discovered lifeless in her residence earlier this week, with a scarf wrapped around her neck, according to information provided by law enforcement on Friday. Svitlana Indelicato, 50, known for her unique handbag designs and her work with scarves and Pashmina shawls, was found unresponsive by her husband in their Bensonhurst home on 80th Street near 16th Avenue. He reported the incident to the police around 5 a.m. on Thursday.

Indelicato was found in a room in her home, unconscious and unresponsive, with a scarf tightly wound around her neck. Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene, where Indelicato was officially pronounced dead. The New York Police Department has described her injuries as neck trauma.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. The cause of death will be officially determined by the city’s medical examiner’s office. Indelicato was a well-known figure in the fashion industry, selling her handbags through her Etsy shop, VitalTemptation, and her scarves through another shop, ScarfObsession.

Indelicato was not just a designer but also a craftswoman who took pride in her work. On her LinkedIn profile, she described her creative process, stating that she worked with wool, silk, and other natural fibers using unique and almost forgotten techniques. She mentioned the use of felting, an ancient textile art that involves manipulating wool with warm soapy water and a process of rolling, squeezing, and rubbing to create a special one-of-a-kind piece.

The fashion community is mourning the loss of a talented designer and craftswoman. As the investigation continues, many are hoping for answers and justice for Svitlana Indelicato.
