Viral Mugshot Sorority Girl Arrested Again

A University of Georgia student, who previously gained internet fame for her glamorous mugshot, found herself in legal hot water once more. Lily Stewart, 20, was arrested on new charges just two weeks after her initial arrest for a speeding violation, which was later dismissed.

Stewart, a member of the Alpha Chi sorority, was taken into custody by campus police early Sunday morning. According to records from the Athens-Clarke County Sheriff’s Office, she was charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer and loitering/prowling, both misdemeanors. The specifics surrounding her arrest have not been disclosed.

Stewart’s second mugshot, in which she is seen smiling and dressed in what appears to be prison attire, was obtained by TMZ, the first to report on her second arrest. She was released from detention later that same morning after posting a bond exceeding $4,000, as per jail records.

Stephen Morris, Stewart’s attorney, declined to comment on the new charges in an email sent Sunday evening. However, he did confirm that the speeding charge from March 8 has been dismissed.

Stewart’s first mugshot quickly went viral on social media, with the college student embracing the unexpected attention by sharing her favorite comments on her TikTok page. She expressed amusement at the situation, stating, “I think it’s hilarious. I don’t know what all the hype is about. I just took a mugshot and went on with my day.”

She also shared that her polished appearance in the initial mugshot was due to her having prepared for a friend’s birthday party. “I was going to a friend’s birthday in Milledgeville, [Ga.] — and I had just gotten ready not long before, so that’s maybe why my makeup and hair still looked good,” she explained.
