A shocking incident unfolded in Houston, Texas, as a 20-year-old transgender individual, Karon Fisher, was arrested and charged with murder, evading arrest with a vehicle, and assaulting hospital personnel. The incident, captured on video, has been described by law enforcement as one of the most horrifying they have ever witnessed.
The victim, 64-year-old Steven Anderson, was going about his daily routine, picking up mail in his neighborhood on May 3, when a white sports car, a Dodge Challenger, sped towards him. The car, driven by Fisher, hit Anderson at a high speed, causing severe injuries.
The surveillance footage further revealed Fisher reversing the car and running over Anderson, moving his body several feet. Witnesses to the horrific incident immediately dialed 911 to report the severe injuries inflicted by the car attack.
The video then shows Fisher approaching the injured Anderson with a knife in hand. Fisher reportedly flipped Anderson over, straddled him, and kissed him before stabbing him nine times, as per KTRK-TV reports.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found Anderson unresponsive in the driveway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Fisher, dressed in a black bra and high-waisted black shorts, attempted to flee the scene in another vehicle. However, unable to gain access to the car, Fisher left the area by stepping over Anderson’s lifeless body and walking away.
The footage of the incident has left law enforcement and the community shocked. Neighbors expressed their concern, with one stating, “It’s very disturbing. I have kids here; they could have been out here playing, and imagine them.” Another added, “Broad daylight. People around every time and it happened right under our noses.”
Court records identify Fisher as a man, but police have also referred to him as a woman. On the same day as the alleged murder, Fisher was charged with assaulting a hospital staff member. Fisher, who was on community supervision for evading an arrest in 2023, had also been charged with prostitution in 2021, though the case was dismissed. Fisher is due to appear in court again on May 24.
