Twin Brothers Found Dead on Mountain

Twin brothers, aged 19, were discovered dead from gunshot wounds atop a mountain in Georgia. The tragic discovery was made a day after the twins, Qaadir and Naazir Lewis from Lawrenceville, missed a flight to Boston where they were scheduled to visit friends. The family of the deceased twins is rejecting the investigators’ theory of murder-suicide.

The Lewis brothers vanished on March 7 after failing to board their 7 a.m. flight. Their bodies were discovered the following day by a hiker at the peak of Bell Mountain, located near the North Carolina border.

Rahim Brawner, the twins’ grieving uncle, expressed disbelief at the murder-suicide theory. He described the brothers as inseparable and incapable of causing harm to each other. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations is currently treating the case as a potential murder-suicide.

Brawner, in an interview with local station WXIA-TV, said, “They’re very protective of each other. They love each other. I couldn’t imagine them hurting each other because I’ve never seen them get into a fistfight before.”

Yasmin Brawner, the twins’ aunt, echoed the sentiment, stating that the brothers had a “huge support system” and would have sought help if they were experiencing any issues. She firmly believes that something untoward happened on the mountain and is seeking answers.

In the wake of the tragedy, Yasmin Brawner has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to cover the funeral expenses for her nephews. She mentioned that the twins had aspirations of launching their own clothing line in the future.

The family is still awaiting answers on how the twins traveled from the airport to Bell Mountain, a location they were not known to frequent or hike. The brothers’ bodies were discovered around 11:05 a.m. on March 8, each with gunshot wounds. Their plane tickets were found intact in their wallets.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has completed autopsies on the brothers but is awaiting additional forensic tests before issuing a final ruling on the cause of death. The authorities have yet to identify which brother they suspect was responsible for the alleged murder-suicide.
