A TikTok influencer known for sharing his romantic life with his girlfriend on the platform is now facing serious charges in Texas. Ladarius Morshun Brownlee has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities allege that Brownlee shot his girlfriend, Seyeddah “Zahra” Hashemi, in the face, causing life-threatening injuries.
According to a police statement shared on Facebook, the incident took place around 1 a.m. on July 5. Brownlee is also facing three charges of deadly misconduct – discharge of a firearm, as per Denton County jail records. A bond of $900,000 has been set for the Northlake, Texas resident, who remains in custody as of Thursday. It is currently unknown whether Brownlee has legal representation.
Local ABC affiliate WFAA reported that Brownlee admitted to shooting Hashemi during the 911 call that alerted police to the incident. Hashemi was shot above her right eye following what was described as a “heated argument” between the couple. Witnesses reported that the argument began as the couple was leaving an Independence Day festival at Bakersfield Park in Flower Mound.
The dispute reportedly escalated into a physical altercation before the couple got into their car. Brownlee, who was driving a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer SUV, allegedly stopped the vehicle less than three miles from the park. He is accused of brandishing a gun at passengers in the back of the vehicle before shooting Hashemi.
Following the incident, Hashemi was transported to a local hospital in Grapevine, Texas. As of Thursday, there was no update on her condition.
The couple, known on TikTok under the combined username “denoandzahra,” had amassed a significant following on the platform. They had generated hundreds of videos, garnering millions of views, and had a following of over 155,000 as of Thursday.
