Teen Tries to Kill Her Sleeping Mother

A 15-year-old girl from Mississippi is currently detained in an adult correctional facility, facing charges of attempted murder and first-degree arson. The teenager, Lexi Jade Brown, is accused of attempting to kill her mother in an attack seemingly influenced by a variety of occult beliefs. The Gulfport Police Department released this information on Monday.

The alleged attack took place in the early hours of June 14. The police received a distress call about a stabbing incident at a residence on Dee Avenue, a rural area of Gulfport near a large forest. Upon arrival at the scene around 2:33 a.m., officers discovered the victim with multiple stab wounds.

According to investigators, the victim, who is the girl’s mother, claimed she was asleep when the assault began. She woke up to find her daughter allegedly attacking her with a knife. After managing to fend off her daughter, the mother alleges that the teenager then attempted to set the house on fire. The mother was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital, although the severity of her injuries has not been disclosed.

The police report indicates that the accused was quite open about the alleged crime. During questioning, Brown reportedly confessed that she had been planning to kill her mother for a while, referring to her as a “weird b—-.” The teenager also allegedly claimed that her mother had been “suppressing the black in her,” according to law enforcement officials.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing. Following her arrest, Brown was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. District 5 Justice Court Judge Nick Patano set her bond at $1.25 million. However, as of now, there is no public record of an inmate by Brown’s name in the county jail.

The Gulfport Police Department and the Harrison County court system were contacted for additional information regarding this case, but no immediate response was provided
