Seven Police Officers Injured in Shooting Incident

Seven law enforcement officers in San Antonio sustained injuries during a shooting incident as they responded to a distress call concerning a possible suicide. The event unfolded on a Wednesday evening in the Stone Oak neighborhood, as reported by San Antonio Police Chief Bill McManus. The individual at the center of the incident, a man in his 40s, was later discovered dead in an apartment after a standoff.

The initial distress call was placed by a relative of the man. As the situation intensified, a SWAT team was dispatched to the location. The standoff continued for several hours before the man was discovered deceased. The cause of the man’s death was not immediately apparent, Chief McManus stated.

This event is not an isolated incident. On January 22, 2025, a similar situation resulted in injuries to four police officers. They were responding to a call about a suicide in progress when the incident took place.

Initial reports from Chief McManus suggested that four officers had been injured in the recent event. However, he later revised this figure to seven. It was believed that none of the injuries sustained by the officers were life-threatening.

In subsequent statements, Chief McManus did not provide specific details about the condition of the injured officers. The incident is currently under investigation, and more details are expected to be released as they become available.
