Renowned Radio Host Robin Ayers Dies at 44

Robin Ayers, a renowned radio host based in Los Angeles, passed away on Thursday at the age of 44, following a battle with cancer. Her death was confirmed by her employers in a statement released on Sunday. Ayers had been a popular figure on KBLA Talk 1580 for the past two years, hosting “The RA Report with Robin Ayers” every weekday from 6 to 7 p.m. Her insightful commentary on entertainment and pop culture earned her a loyal fan base.

Ayers was a prominent figure at the Women Behind The Music 2022 event organized by ASCAP in Beverly Hills, California. Although the exact cause of her death was not disclosed, Ayers had previously shared that she was fighting leiomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer that typically affects soft tissues in the abdomen or uterus.

Her listeners and fans have taken to social media to express their sorrow and extend their condolences to Ayers’ family. Ayers is survived by her husband and twin daughters, who recently celebrated their 18th birthday during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Ayers began her nearly decade-long career in radio reporting at Afterbuzz TV in August 2016, where she served as a podcast host for three years. She then transitioned to entertainment reporting at theJasmineBRAND before finding her place at KBLA Talk 1580, where she eventually hosted her own show.

KBLA Talk 1580 paid tribute to Ayers in their statement, describing her as a “bright light” whose “radiant smile” could be felt through the radio. They praised her immense talent, her joyful spirit, her devotion to her family, and her strong faith in God.

Despite her cancer diagnosis, Ayers continued to work and even survived two car accidents in 2023. Her resilience and determination were widely admired. Following her death, several celebrities have posted heartfelt messages on her social media profiles, expressing their grief and admiration for Ayers.

Among them was former SNL cast member Jay Pharaoh, who wrote, “Heartbroken, I pray to see you again one day in the kingdom my sister. Rest peacefully.” Actress and singer-songwriter Christina Milian also shared a touching tribute, thanking Ayers for her smile, laughter, and shared moments.

Ayers’ legacy lives on through her husband Rob and twin daughters Brooklyn and Madison. Her memorial service is reportedly being planned by her KBLA family.
