Reality TV Star Dies at Age 33

Kirk Medas, a beloved cast member of the MTV reality show “Floribama Shore,” has died at the age of 33. His co-star, Aimee Hall, shared the heartbreaking news on social media on May 2. Hall, who was close to Medas, expressed her grief and shared a poignant anecdote about a dolphin approaching her at the beach, a moment she interpreted as a farewell from her friend.

Medas was a key figure on “Floribama Shore,” appearing on the show from its inception in 2017 until 2021. Hall’s emotional tribute to Medas highlighted their shared love for dolphins and the ocean, and she expressed her belief that Medas was now at peace, free from pain, and bringing joy to others in heaven.

Hall also described Medas as a person with a kind soul, a heart full of love, and a spirit that united people. She referred to him as the “glue” that held their group together. The news of Medas’ death follows the revelation that he had been battling a severe case of necrotizing pancreatitis and sepsis, which had left him on a ventilator for over two weeks.

Medas was admitted to intensive care on April 18, as shared by Hall and fellow “Floribama Shore” cast member Nilsa Prowant on social media. Shortly after his admission, Medas slipped into a coma. Hall recounted the heart-wrenching moment when Medas was placed on the ventilator, sharing that she told him she loved him and saw tears in his eyes.

In her tribute, Hall expressed how much she missed Medas’ voice, laughter, and presence, and how the world seemed dimmer without him. She expressed hope, however, that they would meet again someday. Until then, she vowed to keep him in her heart.

Medas first gained recognition in 2017 when he was selected to join the cast of “Floribama Shore,” a successor to the popular “Jersey Shore” series. The show followed Medas and his seven co-stars as they spent their summers in the Florida Panhandle. Medas’ journey to the show was somewhat accidental, as he was initially accompanying a friend who was auditioning for the show.

After “Floribama Shore,” Medas made guest appearances on other reality shows such as “Fear Factor” and “Wild ‘n Out.” He also used his social media platforms to share his fitness and spiritual journey in his final months.
