A potential disaster was narrowly avoided in Houston’s Memorial region when two teenage girls, suspected of planning an attack on a local high school, were apprehended by authorities. The alleged plot involved the use of firearms and pipe bombs at Memorial High School, prompting immediate action from law enforcement following a credible tip-off.
The Spring Branch Independent School District (ISD) police, in conjunction with the FBI and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, managed to arrest the suspects, aged 15 and 16, within half an hour of receiving the information. Investigations into the matter revealed that the suspects had plans to plant pipe bombs throughout the school and use firearms against students.
