In a shocking incident, a popular TikTok personality in Pakistan was brutally murdered in her home in Islamabad. The victim, Sana Yousaf, who had just celebrated her 17th birthday, was reportedly killed by a man whose advances she had consistently spurned on the internet. The assailant, who had been incessantly sending her messages, entered her home on Monday night and shot her multiple times, causing her immediate death.
The assailant, after committing the heinous act, stole Yousaf’s phone and fled the scene. Yousaf, who had amassed a following of 1.5 million on TikTok, was known for her outspoken advocacy for women’s rights in Pakistan. The news of her murder sent shockwaves across the country, leading to a nationwide outcry for justice.
Following the incident, law enforcement authorities arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of the murder. The police have since recovered the murder weapon and Yousaf’s stolen phone. Islamabad’s police chief, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, informed the media that the motive behind the murder was the suspect’s inability to accept Yousaf’s repeated rejections.
The tragic incident has sparked a wave of concern across Pakistan, putting immense pressure on the police to bring the perpetrator to justice.
