British pop star Jessie J recently revealed to her followers that she has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. The artist, born Jessica Cornish, made the announcement on her Instagram account, indicating that she will be stepping away from her music career temporarily to prioritize her health and prepare for surgery.
Jessie J, recognized for chart-topping hits such as “Price Tag” and “Domino,” disclosed that she learned of her diagnosis two months prior, coinciding with the release of her single “No Secrets.” She underscored the term “early” in her diagnosis, expressing gratitude for the timely detection while recognizing the seriousness of any cancer diagnosis.
The singer openly discussed her feelings regarding her diagnosis, expressing her desire for transparency about her condition. She conveyed that discussing her diagnosis aids her in processing it, and she has previously found solace in the support and shared experiences of others.
The Grammy-nominated artist also pointed out the irony of her diagnosis, which came as she was launching a song titled “No Secrets” and preparing to release another named “Living My Best Life.” She intends to take a break following her performance at the Summertime Ball in London on June 15.
Despite the gravity of her health situation, Jessie J managed to retain a sense of humor, humorously referring to her impending surgery as a “dramatic way to get a boob job.” She also expressed compassion for others grappling with significant health issues, stating that it deeply saddens her to see others experiencing similar or more severe situations.
The singer also expressed her feelings on her Instagram story, revealing that she had been privately dealing with her diagnosis for nine weeks. She expressed gratitude for the support she has received from her fans during both prosperous and challenging times.
According to her official website, Jessie J’s European and UK “No Secrets Tour 2025” is still scheduled to commence in late summer, beginning in Amsterdam. Jessie J has previously been candid about her health challenges, including contracting COVID-19 and experiencing a miscarriage in 2021. She became a mother for the first time with her boyfriend, retired Danish-Israeli basketball player Chanan Safir Colman, in May 2023.
