A Southern California woman is facing accusations of exploiting elderly men by pretending to be their girlfriend or companion, only to rob their homes. Adva Lavie, 28, is allegedly involved in a string of residential burglaries across the Los Angeles area, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Lavie is believed to have used social media dating platforms to connect with elderly men, before targeting their belongings.
The Sheriff’s Department believes that at least 10 men in Malibu and Los Angeles County have fallen victim to Lavie’s scheme. The department’s statement was released with the intention of identifying other potential victims who may have had similar experiences.
Lavie is known to use several aliases, including Mia Ventura, Shoshana, and Shana. Local reports indicate that she has previously appeared in Playboy and Penthouse magazines. She also claims to be the first top Israeli model on the OnlyFans platform, according to The CW affiliate KTLA.
Authorities describe Lavie as being 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 105 pounds, with dark hair and brown eyes. She is known to drive a black Porsche SUV and a white Mercedes-Benz sedan.
As of Wednesday evening, Lavie was not in custody. Records from the Los Angeles County jail show that she was arrested in May and charged with a felony before being released on bond. It is unclear whether this case is related to the recent announcement from the Sheriff’s Department.
Cases of women targeting men for burglary are not unheard of, particularly in affluent areas like Los Angeles and Miami. Authorities advise potential victims to avoid sending money to strangers before meeting them in person and to refrain from inviting strangers into their homes.
Michael Sartain, a podcast host, told KTLA that Lavie has been known to attend charity events in Los Angeles and Las Vegas clubs over the years. He also claimed that she would allegedly threaten victims if they confronted her about stealing.
At least two other individuals have come forward claiming to have been victimized by Lavie. In a conversation with The Daily Mail, Lavie reportedly claimed that she was the victim of a conspiracy.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is urging anyone with information about Lavie and her alleged crimes to come forward.
