Pastor Accused of Sexual Assault of 15-Year-Old

A South Carolina pastor, John Paul Miller, is facing allegations of sexual assault dating back nearly three decades, according to a lawsuit filed in Horry County Circuit Court. The lawsuit alleges that Miller, now 44, sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl, referred to as “Jane Doe,” in 1998 at his father’s church, All Nations Church. The alleged incident took place in his father’s office before he forced her into his truck where the assault continued.

The lawsuit further alleges that Miller, who is the pastor at Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach, assaulted the same woman again in 2023 when they crossed paths during her visit to the city. The suit claims that Miller inappropriately touched her without her consent under the guise of a hug.

The lawsuit also accuses Miller of using a Bible verse to justify his actions, allegedly telling the woman, “No man is without sin and temptation. God understands that.” The suit implicates both All Nations Church and Solid Rock Church, accusing them and their leaders of covering up a pattern of alleged abuse over the years.

The alleged victim expressed feelings of “immense guilt” following the death of Miller’s wife, Mica Miller, in 2024. She believes that if she had come forward sooner, she might have been able to prevent further harm. Mica Miller, who was estranged from her husband at the time, died by suicide just days after serving him with divorce papers.

The lawsuit comes amidst allegations that Miller had abused his wife. Mica Miller’s family has urged authorities to investigate her death thoroughly. Prior to her death, she had contacted the police several times to report allegations against her husband, including claims that he had groomed her when she was a teenager before they married in 2017.

Miller has vehemently denied all allegations of grooming and abuse. He has previously stated that his wife suffered from mental illness and had attempted suicide on multiple occasions. Miller’s attorney declined to comment on the lawsuit.
