A Texas couple, Luther Madison II and Angelica Madison, both 39, are facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following a heated dispute with the parents of their son’s girlfriend. The incident occurred when the girl’s parents expressed concern about their daughter’s age and requested the Madisons’ assistance in discouraging the relationship, according to a statement from Harris County Constable Mark Herman.
The meeting took place on March 17 in Hockley, approximately 35 miles northwest of Houston. The girl’s parents, who remain unidentified, asked the Madisons to help keep their son away from their daughter. The ages of the teenagers involved in the relationship have not been disclosed.
Tensions escalated when the girl’s father voiced his concerns about his daughter’s age and her involvement in a romantic relationship. The Madisons reportedly reacted violently to the father’s request, leading to a physical altercation.
According to police, Angelica Madison was allegedly in possession of a handgun, which she handed to her husband as the situation spiraled out of control. Luther Madison II is accused of shooting the girl’s father in the chest and then threatening to shoot his wife.
The victim was airlifted to a hospital, but his current condition remains unknown.
Following the incident, both Luther and Angelica Madison were arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. They have since been released on bond and are scheduled to appear in court on May 20, as reported by Law and Crime.
