Mom of ‘Perfect Family’ Massacres Husband, Kids in Tragic Murder-Suicide

A tragic incident unfolded in a New Hampshire home when a mother, reportedly battling depression, fatally shot her husband and two of their children before taking her own life. The mother, identified as 34-year-old Emily Long, was discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Authorities believe she killed her husband, 48-year-old Ryan Long, and their two children, 8-year-old Parker and 6-year-old Ryan, in an apparent murder-suicide.

The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office reported that the grim discovery was made early Monday morning at the family’s residence in Madbury. Both children were found with gunshot wounds to the head, while their father, who was reportedly suffering from terminal cancer, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The state’s chief medical examiner confirmed these details.

The deaths of the father and two children were ruled as homicides, while Emily Long’s death was classified as a suicide. The shocking incident has left the community in disbelief. A neighbor, Bevy Ketel, expressed her shock to local media, stating that the family seemed perfect and that no one saw this coming.

The gruesome scene was discovered on Monday night after police received a distressing 911 call reporting multiple deaths at the residence. A firearm was found near the bodies, according to officials. The couple’s three-year-old child, the only survivor of the tragic incident, was found unharmed inside the house and is now under the care of other family members.

Authorities have since revealed that there were serious concerns and ongoing issues at the time of the violent incident, but did not provide further details. The motive behind the tragic incident remains unclear. Assistant Attorney General Ben Agati stated that understanding the motive is one of the most challenging aspects of the ongoing investigation.

Emily Long, who worked as the director of operations at the restaurant chain Wing-Itz, often shared her struggles on social media. She frequently posted about her despair as she grappled with her husband’s terminal cancer diagnosis. Ryan Long, a school psychologist, was reportedly diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.

In a social media post made just two days before the tragic incident, Emily Long shared with her nearly 8,000 followers that her children were struggling and that she had been feeling extremely depressed. She expressed her determination to create normalcy in the home amidst her husband’s declining health. The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing.
