Missing father found dead, wrapped in plastic and carpet. Police say no ‘foul play involved’

Nathan Millard, 42, from Covington, Georgia went missing after attending a college basketball game and visiting Happy’s Irish Pub, located near his hotel, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on the night of February 22.

A bystander reported a foul odor coming from the side of the road behind a funeral home six miles away from where Millard was last seen and upon investigation, authorities found his body wrapped in plastic and a carpet.

The medical examiner’s preliminary report revealed no signs of external or internal trauma, however a toxicology report will be included in the final autopsy report.

Captain Kevin Heinz of the violent crimes unit of the Baton Rouge Police stated that there were no indications of foul play and that the last sighting of Millard was at 4:30 a.m. the morning of his disappearance.

His wallet and phone were found on the ground near his hotel and his wife noted the last time they spoke was when he FaceTimed her to show her the seats he and his client had at the basketball game.

The investigation is still ongoing.
