Missing 14-Year-Old Found Dismembered

The tragic loss of a 14-year-old Arizona girl, whose dismembered remains were discovered in trash bags on a remote dirt road, has left her mother in profound grief. Emily Pike was reported missing on January 27 and her remains were found on February 14, 18 days later. Emily’s mother, Steff Dosela, remembers her daughter as a pure-hearted child with a deep love for art.

Emily was residing in a group home in Mesa, Arizona, at the time of her disappearance. Her family lives on the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation. The last known sighting of Emily was in January, and her disappearance was reported by the manager of her group home.

A week after Emily went missing, her case manager informed Dosela about her daughter’s disappearance. The remains were discovered last month, but it took some time for authorities to confirm that they belonged to Emily. Autopsy results indicated that the teenager had suffered visible trauma to her face and head.

The horrifying discovery included a head and torso found in large bags, with her legs in separate bags. However, the girl’s arms and hands were not found, according to the Gila County Sheriff’s Office. Dosela expressed her deep sorrow over the gruesome circumstances of her daughter’s death, hoping no other mother would have to experience such a devastating loss.

Dosela disclosed that the police have identified three suspects in the case, but their names have not been released. Emily, who had dreams of pursuing art in college, would have been celebrating her 15th birthday soon.

In a heartfelt tribute to her daughter, Dosela said, “You’ll never be forgotten. I love you. Until we meet again, rest in peace.” The authorities have classified Emily’s death as a homicide. The Gila County Sheriff’s Office, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the San Carlos Apache Tribal Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
