Married Teacher Accused of Classroom Sex with Student During Lunchtime

A 32-year-old mathematics teacher from Florida, Sarah Jacas, is facing charges for allegedly engaging in sexual activities with a student in a classroom during lunch hours. Jacas is a faculty member at Corner Lake Middle School, a part of the Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) system in the Orlando metropolitan area. She was taken into custody on Monday and appeared before a judge the following day.

The accusations came to light on June 10 when a 16-year-old boy claimed to have had sexual relations with Jacas two years prior, as per the arrest warrant affidavit. The alleged sexual encounters reportedly occurred between December 2022 and April 2023.

An OCPS spokesperson clarified that Jacas is a 10-month employee and is not currently working during the summer break. The school principal addressed the allegations in a message to the school community, assuring them that the matter is being taken seriously and is under investigation by law enforcement and the district’s Office of Professional Standards.

The principal’s message also indicated that the accused teacher would not be returning to the campus pending the outcome of the investigation. The alleged victim reportedly spent his lunch hours in Jacas’ classroom due to difficulties fitting in and associating with his peers, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit also revealed that the two were in regular text communication until the minor’s parents discovered it. After this, Jacas allegedly used an Instagram account to maintain contact. The illicit relationship was eventually exposed by Jacas’ husband, who threatened to report her.

Jacas is now facing multiple charges, including two counts of lewd or lascivious battery (custodial authority), two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation (custodial authority), and one count of sex offense – authority figure solicit/engage sexual conduct statutory rape. Her bond has been set at $19,000, according to online court records.
