Man leaves chilling note at murder scene after killing his wife

Jeffrey Myers Lacortiglia, 43, was arrested in Ohio after allegedly killing his wife in North Carolina. Reports state that the suspect drove for over eight hours and 500 miles to tell his mother what he had done.

The Hamilton Township Police Department (HTPD) revealed that Lacortiglia entered the agency and confessed to shooting his wife at their home in Spring Lake. T

he Harnett County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) was contacted by the HTPD and officers in North Carolina were sent to the residence to conduct a check. After knocking twice and receiving no answer, Lacortiglia provided access to the garage. Once inside, deputies found the body of Blanca Lacortiglia, 37, lying on a bed with a gun and magazine beside her. A note written on a counter read, “I’m sorry. I love you.”

It is reported that the suspect drove to his mother’s house in Ohio after the slaying and was encouraged by her to turn himself in to the police. A murder warrant was issued and Jeffrey Lacortiglia is now held in the Warren County jail without bond.

The couple’s 8-year-old son is staying with his father in Ohio while further details remain undisclosed.
