In a shocking incident, a man was caught on camera pursuing his former wife through a hospital before fatally shooting her with a shotgun. The incident occurred on the same day the woman had filed a restraining order against him. The accused, Atilla Ayintapli, 44, is now facing charges for the murder of Eser Karaca, a 42-year-old mother of two. Karaca was employed as a medical secretary at a private hospital in Kahramanmaras, a city in south-central Turkey.
The chilling footage, which surfaced recently, shows Ayintapli, clad in black, entering the hospital premises in May. He was seen carrying a plastic bag as he walked into his ex-wife’s office. A confrontation ensued between Ayintapli, Karaca, and a colleague present in the office. The situation escalated when Ayintapli pulled out a shotgun from the bag.
The video shows Karaca and her co-worker attempting to push Ayintapli away before fleeing in fear as he brandishes the shotgun. As Karaca tried to escape down a staircase, Ayintapli fired at her. Despite her attempts to shield herself with her hands, she was hit.
The footage further shows the suspected murderer firing two more rounds at the injured woman before leaving the scene. Shortly after, Karaca’s horrified colleagues can be seen rushing to her aid, visibly distressed at the sight of her bloodied body. Despite being rushed to the emergency room within the same hospital, Karaca succumbed to her injuries.
Ayintapli managed to escape the hospital but was later apprehended by the authorities. In addition to the murder charges, he is also facing charges for threatening Karaca’s co-worker with the weapon. Prosecutors are currently seeking a life sentence for Ayintapli, who is awaiting trial.
The tragic incident occurred on the same day Karaca had filed a restraining order against Ayintapli. Reports suggest that Ayintapli had been persistently trying to reconcile with Karaca, despite a history of abusive behavior.
