Man Arrested for Alleged Bomb Threat at Beauty Store

A Louisiana man was apprehended by Alabama law enforcement after allegedly threatening to detonate an Ulta Beauty store in Opelika. The suspect, identified as Timothy Vincent Lincoln, 42, of Buras, Louisiana, was taken into custody with his face covered in red and blue markings, presumably made with markers or crayons.

Lincoln is currently facing a first-degree terrorist threat charge. The arrest affidavit, filed in Lee County District Court, reveals that Lincoln was overheard making the threat while on a phone call outside the Ulta Beauty store located in the Tiger Town shopping complex. The incident occurred shortly before 10 a.m. on a recent Saturday.

An employee who was also outside at the time reportedly heard Lincoln say, ā€œIā€™m going to blow this sā€” up.ā€ The employee quickly alerted her colleagues, leading to an immediate evacuation of the store. The affidavit did not specify whether Lincoln had entered the store or if there was a previous disagreement that could have prompted the alleged threat.

Responding officers from the Opelika Police Department found no explosive devices at the scene. Following the all-clear, the store resumed its regular operations.

At some point during the incident, Lincoln decided to adorn his face with bright blue and red markings. His beard and nose were colored blue, while red lines covered much of his face, and a dark line crossed his forehead. The police did not disclose how Lincoln obtained the coloring materials or his intentions behind the unusual facial decoration. Requests for comments from a police spokesperson were not immediately returned.

Following his arrest, Lincoln was transported to the Lee County Detention Center. He is currently held on a $100,000 bond. If convicted, Lincoln could face up to 10 years in prison. No legal representation for Lincoln has been listed. Ulta Beauty has since prohibited Lincoln from entering the store.
