Husband of missing mom of 3 arrested

The husband of missing mother-of-three Ana Walshe, 39, has been arrested for allegedly misleading the police. The arraignment of Brian Walshe, 46, is scheduled for Monday.

In the early hours of New Year’s Day, Ana went missing from Cohasset, a small town about 45 minutes southeast of Boston. Her former home recently burned down, but authorities dismissed any connection between this and her disappearance. Walshe family members sold their residence in March 2022 and moved the following month, according to Boston-based NBC affiliate WBTS. Police Chief William Quigley told WXFT the fire didn’t appear to be suspicious, that it started in the attic, and that an occupant of the home called 911. It is reported that all four occupants of the house – three adults and one child – were able to escape without injury.

“Cohasset and State Investigators determined that this fire was not suspicious,” said the Massachusetts Office of the State Fire Marshal. “It originated in the area of damaged piping connected to a natural gas fireplace insert.”

Ana Walshe’s whereabouts are unknown at this time. A D.C.-based real estate management executive was scheduled for a flight to the nation’s capital on Tuesday, but she was called to work earlier due to an emergency.

“At this point it’s a missing person investigation,” said Quigley on Friday. “We’re just trying to locate Ana and get her home safely. We have nothing to support anything suspicious or criminal.”

On Sunday, police were seen investigating the Walshe home.
