High School Teacher Identifies as Cat, Licks Hands, Hisses at Students

A high school teacher in Queensland, Australia, has sparked concern among parents for her unusual behavior in the classroom. The teacher, employed at Marsden State High School in Logan City, south of Brisbane, has been reported to refer to herself as a cat, even going as far as to hiss at students and lick the back of her hands during class. Parents have taken to social media to voice their concerns, claiming that the teacher has asked students to address her as “Miss Purr.”

Images and brief videos that have surfaced online show the teacher wearing a cat ear headband and a lanyard with the word “purr” on it while teaching. One relative of a student has alleged on Facebook that the teacher insists on being called Miss Purr and makes cat-like noises when students fail to pay attention. The same relative described the teacher’s hand-licking behavior as “absolutely disgusting” and called for action to be taken.

The school has been contacted for comment regarding the situation. The relative who spoke out on Facebook expressed confusion over the teacher’s behavior and speculated that the school must have received a flood of complaints.

The relative also sought answers, suggesting that the situation might be innocent, as children can sometimes exaggerate. However, another parent claimed on the same Facebook post that the teacher had encouraged her daughter to “purr” in exchange for a candy.
