Harvard Medical School Explosion: Suspects on the Run

An early morning explosion occurred at a Harvard Medical School building on Saturday, with two suspects caught on surveillance footage fleeing the scene. The incident took place just before 3 a.m. on the fourth floor of the Goldenson building, located on the main quad of the Harvard Longwood Campus, according to law enforcement officials.

Two individuals were seen exiting the building at the time of the explosion, as reported by the Harvard University Police Department. An officer from the university attempted to apprehend the suspects but was unsuccessful. The officer then entered the building to respond to the alarm.

The Boston Police Department released surveillance images of the suspects on Saturday. The images depict two individuals wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts. The Boston Fire Department has determined that the explosion was intentional.

After conducting a thorough sweep of the building, the fire department found no additional devices. Despite the severity of the explosion, no injuries were reported. The nature of the explosive device remains unclear, with sources close to the investigation stating that it was not a bomb, but providing no further details.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is currently involved in the investigation. Both the Boston Police Department and the FBI have declined to comment on the ongoing investigation. Attempts to reach the Harvard University Police Department for comment have been unsuccessful.

This incident has raised concerns about security on campus and the potential for future threats. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
