Two food manufacturers have recently announced product recalls due to the undisclosed presence of eggs, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). San Antonio-based C.H. Guenther & Son LLC has recalled its Small Bites Macaroni & Cheese packages. The recall was initiated due to the potential presence of undisclosed egg and meat ingredients. The products were sold at Whole Foods Market locations nationwide, primarily in the frozen food sections.
The product under scrutiny is labeled as 365 Whole Foods Market Small Bites Macaroni & Cheese, with a UPC code of 99482499709 and a “best-by” date of November 29, 2025. The products were likely purchased between February 6, 2025, and March 11, 2025. The recall was triggered by a customer complaint that the product contained meat, which contradicted its macaroni and cheese bite description. The company has since implemented measures to prevent similar issues in the future. The issue has been resolved, and no other manufacturing dates or lots are affected. Customers who purchased the recalled product are advised to dispose of any remaining product and can return to the store with a valid receipt for a full refund.
In a separate incident, HAR Maspeth Corporation, based in Maspeth, New York, recalled its 8-ounce and 12-ounce packages of “Jinga Glass Noodles with Vegetables (Japche)” due to the presence of undisclosed eggs. Consumers allergic to eggs could potentially experience serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product. The recalled items were distributed to H Mart stores in several states.
The product is packaged in 8-ounce and 12-ounce clear plastic containers with “best-by” dates ranging from March 13, 2025, to March 18, 2025. The product UPC codes are 265405006495, 267405004495, 266405008496, and 268405005499. To date, there have been no reported illnesses or allergic reactions associated with this product.
The presence of eggs in the 8- and 12-ounce packages of the product was discovered during a retail inspection by the New York State’s Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors. The product label did not declare the presence of an egg ingredient. Consumers who purchased these specific packages are advised to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
