Father Found Deceased Following Disappearance at LIV Golf Tournament

A West Virginia man, father to two young children, was discovered deceased two days following his disappearance from the LIV Golf tournament. The missing person report for Jarred David Shultz, 39, was filed by a friend who last saw him at the two-day event in White Sulphur Springs late Saturday, according to Lewisburg Police. His body was discovered Monday afternoon in a forested area near a highway, in close proximity to several hotels, as per the police department’s social media update.

Shultz, a resident of Barboursville, was last seen at the Brier Patch Bar & Grill around 11:40 p.m. on Saturday during the golf event at the prestigious Greenbrier resort, as reported by Golf Digest. His friend reported him missing shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday, police records show.

The police department utilized various methods in their search for Shultz, including phone pings, bloodhound tracking, ground searches, thermal imaging, surveillance footage reviews, and drone aerial searches. Shultz’s wife, Lauren, also made a public appeal on Facebook for information regarding her husband’s whereabouts.

The police department’s Chief, Chris Teubert, stated that there is currently no suspicion of foul play in relation to Shultz’s death, although he did not provide further details on the probable cause of death. He expressed his condolences to Shultz’s family and friends, acknowledging the difficulty of this time.

Shortly before the discovery of Shultz’s body on Monday, Lauren updated her Facebook profile picture to a joyful image of the couple with their two young children. The community has been left in shock following the tragic incident, with many expressing their condolences and support for the grieving family.
