Fatal Foot Locker Shooting: Two Arrested, One Suspect at Large

Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with a fatal shooting that transpired within a Foot Locker store at The Shops at Iverson. The incident, which unfolded on a Thursday afternoon, resulted in the demise of 24-year-old Dominique Hodge, a Washington, D.C. resident.

The suspects currently in custody are 19-year-old Andres Rodriguez-Corona from Waldorf, Maryland, and 22-year-old Carl Sanders from Washington, D.C. Both are facing charges related to Hodge’s murder. However, a third suspect implicated in the crime remains at large, prompting law enforcement officials to seek public assistance in identifying and locating this person.

The crime scene was established on Branch Avenue, where officers found Hodge with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the presence of other patrons and staff in the store, no other injuries were reported. Hodge was pronounced dead at the scene.

In the aftermath of the incident, officers identified three individuals matching the suspects’ descriptions approximately half a mile from the crime scene. When officers approached, the group attempted to escape. Rodriguez-Corona was captured, and a handgun was seized from him.

Later that same day, Sanders was arrested during a traffic stop near 28th Avenue and St. Barnabas Road in Temple Hills. During the stop, officers discovered two unregistered firearms, often referred to as “ghost guns,” inside the vehicle.

Investigators are exploring the possibility that Hodge was deliberately targeted by his assailants, although the specific motive behind the attack remains unclear. Rodriguez-Corona is facing charges of murder and other related offenses, while Sanders has been charged with multiple firearms violations. Both suspects are currently detained in police custody.

The investigation is still underway, and authorities are encouraging anyone with information about the third suspect to step forward. They are hopeful that with the public’s assistance, they can swiftly resolve the case and deliver justice.
