Disney Influencer Dies at Holiday Event at Age 34

Dominique Brown, a well-known Disney theme park influencer, tragically passed away after experiencing a severe allergic reaction at a holiday event. The 34-year-old was attending a food-themed gathering hosted by pop culture merchandise retailer BoxLunch in Los Angeles on December 5 when the incident occurred. Brown, who was based in Long Beach, unknowingly consumed a food item that contained allergens, leading to a medical emergency.

According to accounts from those present at the event, Brown immediately felt unwell after eating the food and was rushed to the hospital. A social media user who claimed to be acquainted with Brown shared that she had inquired about the presence of peanuts in the food, and was assured there were none.

Reports indicate that Brown received immediate medical attention at the event, including CPR, and emergency services were promptly alerted. BoxLunch expressed their deep sorrow over the incident in a statement, extending their condolences to Brown’s family and friends and pledging support to them and their team during this difficult time. The official cause of Brown’s death has not been disclosed.

Brown’s brother, Patrick Ramos, expressed his gratitude to her social media followers for their outpouring of love and support. In a comment on her final Instagram post, where she was seen joyfully wearing a Winnie the Pooh-themed outfit in a Disney store, Ramos thanked her online community for sharing in her love for Disney. He fondly remembered his sister’s infectious smile and her passion for Disney.

Brown, who had recently attended the premiere of “Moana 2,” was known for her posts about new Disney rides and experiences. In addition to her content creation, she co-founded BlackGirlDisney with her friend Mia Von, a Dallas-based real estate agent. Their initiative aimed to increase representation of women of color in the Disney influencer space.

This tragic incident echoes a similar case from last year when NYU Langone doctor Kanokporn Tangsuan allegedly died from an allergic reaction to food at a restaurant in Disney Springs. Her husband, Jeffrey Piccolo, filed a lawsuit claiming that despite informing the restaurant staff about her nut and dairy allergy, she was served food that led to her fatal reaction.
