Deli Worker Fatally Stabbed in Unprovoked Attack

A tragic incident unfolded in a Brooklyn deli on Friday afternoon when a deli worker was fatally stabbed by an agitated individual in an unprovoked attack, according to police and inside sources. The assailant entered the NY Deli & Mini Market Corp. on Hegeman Avenue near Van Siclen Avenue in East New York shortly after 3 p.m. Employees, including the victim, requested the man to leave the premises.

Ignoring the request, the man returned a few minutes later, attempting to gain access to the area behind the counter. The assailant, who had become increasingly aggressive when the victim and other employees tried to prevent him from accessing the counter area, managed to escape the scene. As of several hours later, he remained at large.

The suspect is described as a man with a dark complexion and braided hair. He is approximately 5-foot-10 and weighs around 190 pounds, according to the police description.
