In a chilling discovery, a decapitated body was found in a wooded area sandwiched between two popular fast-food restaurants in Tennessee. The authorities are yet to determine the duration for which the body had been lying there.
The gruesome discovery was made by a woman who came across a collection of heavily decomposed bones in the woods located behind a McDonald’s and Waffle House in Nashville on a Friday morning. The police were immediately alerted about the situation.
The Metro Nashville Police Department later found a severely deteriorated skull approximately 100 feet away from the decapitated remains. The identity of the person, including their gender and age, remains unknown at this point. The police are finding it challenging to gather evidence due to the advanced state of decomposition and the location of the remains.
A police spokesperson stated that the circumstances surrounding the person’s death and how they ended up in that location are still unclear. The heat, the wooded area, and the condition in which the body was found have made it difficult for the officers and the crime scene investigation team to document and collect evidence.
The authorities are yet to confirm whether the severed head belongs to the decomposing body. The shocking discovery has left the employees of the nearby fast-food restaurants in a state of shock and disbelief.
One of the workers, Tom Keesee, expressed his horror at the situation, stating that while crime is not uncommon in a big city, finding a decapitated body takes it to a whole new level.
The investigation into the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding their death is currently underway.
