Daughter brutally kills well-loved dentist father

On Sunday morning, police officers in Virginia Beach were taken aback when they arrived at the 1300 block of Wren Place and found the body of 68-year-old Dr. Abbey Horwitz with multiple stab wounds. He was immediately declared dead at the scene. His daughter, 34-year-old Michael ‘Norah’ Horwitz, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and stabbing in the commission of a felony.

Dr. Horwitz was a beloved dentist from Virginia Beach who had worked at The Art of Dentistry clinic since 1977. He had recently retired in February, and many of his colleagues and family members gathered to pay their respects. Dr. Horwitz not only dedicated his life to dentistry, but was also involved in the Jewish community and often volunteered his services in Israel, Romania, and the former Soviet Union.

Norah appeared in court via video conference from jail on Monday and spoke about her dishwashing job. A bond hearing was scheduled for the following day but was removed for unknown reasons. As per police reports, Norah was going through a gender transition. The motive behind her stabbing her father is still unclear but presumed to be a domestic dispute. Those who knew Dr. Horwitz remembered him as a generous and selfless figure. His neighbor described him as the kind of person who hosted barbecues for four generations of his family, including his parents, children, and grandchildren.

The sudden passing of Dr. Horwitz has come as a shock to his local community and family. He was a generous and kind-hearted person, and his death serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health and helping those in need.
