Colombian ‘Doll’ Arrested in Connection with High-Profile Gangland Killings

A 23-year-old Colombian woman, known by the alias “The Doll,” has been apprehended in connection with several high-profile gang-related murders, including the recent killing of her former boyfriend. Karen Julieth Ojeda Rodriguez, also known as “La Muneca,” was arrested for her alleged role in these crimes, which were reportedly carried out on behalf of the Los de la M gang in the municipality of Barrancabermeja, according to Spanish-language news outlet Libertad Digital.

Rodriguez was allegedly expanding her criminal activities, leading a group of hitmen who were spreading fear throughout the region before her arrest. This information was reported by Spanish news outlet Infobae. Rodriguez’s criminal activities were not limited to orchestrating murders; she was also accused of organizing and leading criminal enterprises.

The arrest came after the July 23 assassination of her former boyfriend in a rural area of Colombia known as Piedecuesta. According to the Magdalena Medio police, Rodriguez lured her ex, Deyvy Jesus, into a trap by inviting him to meet to resolve a financial dispute. However, when Jesus arrived, he was shot multiple times by two men on a motorcycle, allegedly acting on Rodriguez’s orders.

Rodriguez was arrested alongside two accomplices. One of them, Paula Valentina Joya Rueda, 24, is known by the alias “Gorda Sicaria” or “Fat Hitwoman.” The other accomplice, known as “Leopoldo,” was also taken into custody. During the arrest, police confiscated a revolver and a 9-millimeter pistol, and are currently investigating whether these weapons were used in any of the recent murders.

Lt. Col. Muaricio Herrara of the Magdalena Medio police stated that the arrests of “La Muneca” and “Leopoldo” have brought a sense of calm to the region. He added that these arrests represent significant progress in dismantling the criminal structures responsible for the recent homicides.

In Bucaramanga, Colombia, a city with a population of just over 1.3 million people, a homicide is reported every three days, according to the World Population Review. The charges that Rodriguez and her alleged accomplices will face have not yet been announced by officials.
