A 21-year-old Venezuelan woman, known for her outgoing personality and love for fun, was found dead in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania over the weekend. The woman, whose identity has not been released by the police, was discovered wrapped in a sheet and shower curtain, her body concealed within a futon. Friends and former colleagues identified her as a recent immigrant from Venezuela who had been living in the U.S. for a year, as reported by local Fox affiliate WTFX.
The police reported that the woman had been stabbed multiple times in her neck and torso. Her body was discovered early Saturday morning, around 12:39 a.m., inside an apartment located on the 4400 block of Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia’s Frankford neighborhood.
Shirese Robinson, a neighbor, expressed her shock to WTFX, describing the incident as “very scary” and akin to “something straight out of a movie.” Friends of the victim, who wished to remain anonymous, spoke about her vibrant personality and could not fathom anyone wanting to harm her.
One friend described her as “outgoing, funny” and someone who “loved to have fun.” He added that she was always positive and enjoyed making TikTok videos with his children. A former co-worker, who along with his mother-in-law had taken the woman into their home, described her as always hospitable and kind.
The police, upon discovering the victim, were unable to locate any weapons or evidence at the scene that could lead to an arrest. The woman was reported missing after friends were unable to reach her, with her last known contact being on April 2, according to the police.
As of Monday morning, the police were still searching for the perpetrator and investigating the homicide. The victim’s friend and former co-worker expressed his hope that the killer would be caught and punished, stating, “Let them suffer because at the end of the day they didn’t care about her.”
