The family of a 21-year-old mother from Houston is seeking public assistance in locating her after she disappeared under suspicious circumstances. Deundrea Ford, a mother of one, was last seen in the early hours of September 22, leaving her workplace, Diva’s Bikini Sports Bar & Grill, with an unidentified man. She was seen entering a white van with this man, an event captured by surveillance cameras around 2:30 a.m., as reported by the Houston Police Department.
Ford had made a phone call to a friend approximately 30 minutes before she was seen leaving, but the friend was asleep and missed the call. The following morning, the friend noticed the missed call but was unable to reach Ford. Bridgette Carriere, Ford’s grandmother, expressed concern to the Houston Chronicle, stating that Ford’s phone location had been turned off.
Alarm bells started ringing for the family when Ford failed to contact her 4-year-old son for several days. Ford, who had been living with a friend for the week, was not known to go days without reaching out to anyone, according to her family.
Kevin Carriere, Ford’s uncle, expressed his worry to KHOU, stating that Ford’s disappearance was out of character. “I’m confident that something’s not right. This is not her normal behavior,” he said.
The family revisited Diva’s Bikini Sports Bar & Grill, where Ford had only recently started working, and were able to view the surveillance footage. They also managed to obtain the address of the man Ford was seen leaving with, although it remains unclear how they came by this information.
Upon visiting the man’s residence, they received no response. Bridgette Carriere told the Chronicle that they subsequently contacted the police.
Ford is described as a black woman with brown eyes and black hair, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing around 170 pounds. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black tank top and tan pants, according to Houston police.
