Basketball Prodigy Killed in Hit-and-run Jet Ski Accident

A tragic incident unfolded in Texas when an 18-year-old basketball prodigy and recent recruit of the US Air Force lost her life in a jet ski hit-and-run accident. Ava Moore was kayaking on Grapevine Lake on a Sunday evening when she was reportedly hit by a jet ski operated by two women.

Eyewitness Lisa Scrabeck recounted the harrowing scene, stating that she and others at the scene attempted to provide life-saving measures to Moore after she was pulled from the water. Moore, a 2024 graduate of Fort Worth Timber Creek High School and a standout on the basketball court, was rushed to the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The authorities have reported that the woman who was driving the jet ski left the scene immediately after the accident. She was seen fleeing in a car with a male companion, and they reportedly hit another vehicle as they made their escape. The second woman who was on the jet ski stayed at the scene and was subsequently interviewed by the police.

In an effort to locate the woman who fled, the police have released a photo of the suspected jet ski driver. The image was widely circulated in hopes of tracking her down.

The incident has left the community and Moore’s family in shock. In a statement, Moore’s family expressed their grief over the loss of their daughter. They also extended their prayers to the young women involved in the incident and their families.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
