Airport worker ‘ingested’ into engine on Delta jet

On Friday, June 23, tragedy struck at the San Antonio International Airport when a ground crew member was “ingested” into the engine of a Delta Air Lines jet.

According to KENS5, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released a statement confirming the events of the incident.

The victim was employed by Unifi Aviation, a company that Delta contracts to provide ground handling operations, who issued a statement expressing their sorrow. In respect for the deceased, Unifi Aviation decided to withhold any further details of the incident. In their statement, they emphasized their commitment to support their employees affected by the event.

Delta Air Lines released a statement of their own, expressing condolences to the family of the deceased. In addition, they are supporting the ongoing investigation and have pledged their full support to those involved.
