The circumstances surrounding the death of acclaimed adult film actress Jesse Jane, born Cindy Taylor, have been disclosed over half a year after she was found unconscious with her boyfriend. Taylor and her partner, Brett Hasenmueller, were found lifeless at their home in Moore, Oklahoma, in late January. The discovery was made after a welfare check was requested.
The Office of Chief Medical Examiner for Oklahoma has concluded that both Taylor and Hasenmueller’s deaths were the result of an accidental overdose of fentanyl and cocaine. The medical examiner’s report noted that Taylor’s body was already in a state of decomposition when it was discovered. A comprehensive report on the incident is scheduled for release on July 17.
Taylor, a Fort Worth, Texas native, rose to prominence in the adult film industry after signing a contract with Digital Playground in 2002. Her contributions to the industry earned her a spot in the AVN and XRCO Hall of Fame, solidifying her status as a notable figure in the adult film world. Taylor was previously married to fellow adult film actor Rick Patrick, but the couple divorced in 2012. In 2020, she was arrested for alleged domestic violence against her then-boyfriend during a dispute fueled by alcohol.
Taylor is survived by her son. Alana Evans, president of the Adult Performance Artists Guild, remembered Taylor as a “mega star” who remained grounded despite her success. Friends and colleagues continue to express their grief and share memories of Taylor on social media.
The tragic circumstances of Taylor’s accidental overdose underscore the risks associated with substance abuse. Her untimely death contributes to the ongoing dialogue about mental health and addiction within the adult entertainment industry.
